July 4th Trip, 2014

TUESDAY JULY 1 to

Sal, Tom and I flew to boston from sf.

Peter and Betsy picked us up. We went to Essex where we had a lovely dinner.

Tomorrow to Chebeague!

DAY 2,  WEDNESDAY JULY 2

Arrived at Cheb on the noon, after a stop at west marine to get a port hole cover for wakame. The Sachs' were on our boat!

Took the mini home!

Upon arriving at the place, checked on the new plants. The rose of Sharon looked great.

And the oak leafed hydrangea had come back, despite being eaten.

Tom learned how to fish.

Luke measured what a new dormer with bathroom would look like on lower.

I went to get Lyra set up. Put main and jib on before rain threatened. Outboard was missing. Boatyard said they'd find it tomorrow.

Tom joined us for a big cocktail party. Jean Moses and Vanessa were there. Barbara and Phillipe, and Ben and Lisa. Our contingent included Luke and holly, peg, Sam and Mae, me and Sally, Tom, and Luke and Holly's friends Deborah and nat.

Today, finish Lyra set up. Put inspection port in wakame. Paint wakame. Make whole foods order.

THURSDAY, JULY 3

Finished Lyra setup, put outboard on.

Swapped cotter pins for new quick release pins (not pictured).

Tuned boat.

FRIDAY, JULY 4

Ran the road race. Sam and Mae left :( rain started midday.

SATURDAY, JULY 5 - MONDAY, JULY 7

Tom and sal play on the lawn.

The Sachs's row to Aria!

Lyra parked at the float.

Tom plays the drums!

Drinks at the Alpers.

 Lamb chops!

A sail

A visit to the hatfield compound.

The upper

A gorgeous day for a sail, Tom at the helm.

Went to Hamilton beach, picked up a mooring (Manny's: says "Morgan, which she said was fine).

Lilac trimming was successful,

Picked up sticks on the upper roof. Would be great to cover the sideboards with wood instead of the vinyl.

Sal did a magnificent job clearing Lily's of the Valleys above upper.

Yay, the mini!

A lovely dinner at the Inn with Sal, Peg, Tom and I

Next, night we made a chard, rhubard and bacon dish (over pasta). Yummy and zesty.

I cleaned out the upper outdoor closet / shed.

I noticed the mini was squeaking, it was where the hood attaches. Fixed temporarily with this rag, and eventually found the rubber guy that's supposed to go there.

Cut a hole for an inspection port in Wakami (the dinghy). Lots of sand and water inside.

All done.

Vacuumed the mini!

Two inspection ports. Next step: build teak seats.

The clean and organized upper outdoor closet.

Another sail, this time to Sand Island!

I love the design of Ann's company stationery.

Blueberry pancakes!

The clean closet #2
