Second to Last Day of the Year

Today was action-packed:

Last sail of the year--good breeze, but chilly:

Our sweet new mid-boom ratcheting Oxen block:

Incredible light toward sunset:

Another yummy dinner, first-course bruschetta. And in the background, see Sal's excellent contribution of new napkins from India:

Last lobster feast of the ye'ah! Thanks, Mark.

Tomorrow, we'll finish putting the place to bed, and depart on the 2.

Been a great trip so far...

Sunny day arrival:

Lyra happily bobbing:

Sal makes apple pie (and she voted):

We baked yummy bread, too:

For sandwiches:

Rain and clouds that have been with us for a couple days begin to clear:
Pumped Lyra out, and hopeful for a sail tomorrow!

Retroactive Post for Luke & Holly

Luke and Holly did some great stuff while here this summer. Yay! Here's a subset of their productivity:

• Luke & Fax did a major replanting of mature juvenile lilac in spot where old lilac died...

• Holly did a first coat of primer in the Gazebo - looks wicked good! Need one more can of white primer, and then some nice light blue tough stuff for the floor. Also she threw out a lot of Luke old gahbage in theyah.

• Holly re-dyed the lower couch cushions a pretty blue

• Luke put shingles on the outside of the wood hutch

Sally & Adam November Stay Begins

Sally and I arrived yesterday on the 2:30 CTC. Took a red-eye from SF, to Newark, to Portland. Had our plane arrived in Portland at the scheduled time of 10:15am, we could have shopped and made it to the noon CTC. Alas, our flight landed 35 minutes late, and we took the 2:00pm.

Couple datapoints on travel expenses for future reference:
- cab from Portland Jetport to Whole Foods: $15
- cab from Whole Foods to CTC lot in Yarmouth: $35

Nice day when we got here. Now it's raining, cozy inside with a fire.
